OUR areas
Translation and Localization
The translation and localization internship allows you to get to know and explore all the processes involved in this area: pre-production, production and post-production.
You'll have the opportunity to dive into all the activities involved in translation and localization, including document handling and editing, translation, revision, proofreading and quality control.
To ensure an experience that meets your expectations as far as possible, you'll receive certified training in the various tools used in this area, all in an environment certified by ISO 17100.
Quality
In this field, you'll have the opportunity to support the implementation of quality policies, maintenance and improvement of AP | PORTUGAL's ISO 17100-compliant Quality Management System, monitoring of nonconformities and implementation of preventive and corrective measures, as well as internal and external audits, amongst others.
International Relations
This is an internship in the area of Trade and International Relations, which is part of the Information and International Relations Department. We cover aspects such as the establishment of institutional agreements and partnerships, event creation and management, market research, and collaborative management of professional social networks (digital networking), amongst others.
Management
The management internship at AP | PORTUGAL may encompass business management and project management. More specifically, during this internship you'll support the analysis of management charts and reports and the presentation of results, which are aimed at producing information that allows goals to be defined, as well as participate in setting budgets and monitoring their execution.
Accounting and Administration
This area supports Management, HR and Quality by aiding the development and management of the various active policies and strategies and the preparation of analytics reports, as well as by handling matters related to the quality control system implemented in accordance with ISO 17100 and 9001.
HR
The internship in Human Resources involves directly supporting activities ranging from developing and executing recruitment processes to qualifying for operational management of HR, passing through organizational, social and career management policy development and professional development. The entire journey is orientated by and integrated into the Kaizen methodology and its philosophy of continuous improvement: 'Today better than yesterday, tomorrow better than today'.
Marketing and Communication
The marketing and communication internship aims to develop digital marketing strategy skills, thereby deepening your knowledge of market trends, content planning and development, implementation of inbound marketing strategies and campaigns in a digital environment, support in the preparation of analytical reports and respective metrics, and much more.
Copywriting
In terms of copywriting, the internship involves being a direct support for the new AP | PORTUGAL copywriting service, where you will have the chance to work with a team of professional copywriters, thus strengthening your persuasive writing skills for different digital channels. Over the course of the internship you will have the opportunity to develop essential skills in copywriting, such as marketing, SEO, social media and more.

Academic
If you're looking for an internship integrated into your academic career, AP | ACADEMY is the right place. Here you'll have the opportunity to complement the academic side of your degree with real, practical experience at a leading Portuguese company in communications technologies, amplified event management and translation.
You'll be offered free access to an array of training certified by the Directorate-General for Employment and Labour Relations (DGERT) to consolidate your knowledge.
Throughout this internship you'll have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the standards, values and culture of the professional class you're about to become a part of.
Professional
After finishing your academic training, a new phase begins: the search for your first job.
AP | ACADEMY provides you with a professional internship subject to the guidelines of the Institute for Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP), which aims to promote your integration into the labour market.
This could be the next step if you choose to start your journey at AP | PORTUGAL with an academic or refresh internship, or even as a starting point for a professional career as an in-house or freelance collaborator.
Refresh
If you've already reached the end of your academic path, are at the beginning of your career and are looking for work experience in your area of training, regardless of whether you've already done an academic internship, the refresh internship is for you.
The aim of this internship is to develop your skills gradually and, at the same time, provide you with free access to qualified and certified training.
Volunteering
Volunteering at AP | ACADEMY is aimed at professionals with experience in their areas of work who wish to contribute actively to the training of young people.
This opportunity is open to active, experienced professionals, enabling them to retrain by participating in real projects and accessing free certified training offered in AP | PORTUGAL's Tech Training Center. It is also aimed at those who are no longer in practice but wish to stay actively connected to their area of work, with access to continuously updated knowledge.
TYPES OF internships
In-person
If you choose to do an in-person internship, AP | PORTUGAL provides you with the ideal physical and geographical conditions for you to develop at AP | ACADEMY.
Located in Porto, Portugal's second-largest city and namesake, AP | PORTUGAL is 40 minutes away from the airport, which means you're at most a 3-hour flight from the main European capitals. We are situated near the Port wine cellars and a stone's throw from the city centre, which allows you to easily learn more about the history and culture of this beautiful region in northern Portugal.
All the conditions you'll need to undertake your activities will be at your disposal: space, equipment and technology.
Soon, the Loft of Words, already in the final phase of construction, will allow AP | ACADEMY to expand and grow further in the areas of language and technology services. It will be a modern office that will grow both in size and in terms of the departments it will host.
But more than just growth, the Loft of Words represents the improvement of the physical structure integrated into the evolution of the services provided by AP | PORTUGAL.
The Loft of Words will provide voiceover and subtitling studios, a remote interpretation centre and facilities that reflect our growing investment in AP | ACADEMY.
This development reflects the practical result of the Kaizen philosophy of continuous improvement everywhere, all the time, of everybody.
Virtual
AP | PORTUGAL offers internships to everybody on an equal footing, regardless of where they live, their socioeconomic conditions and even their physical mobility.
However, we have technically and organisationally adapted the entire AP | ACADEMY programme to this reality, both in terms of tools and platforms offering qualified and certified training, such as our learning management system, the Tech Training Center.
As such, the whole programme is designed to be offered virtually, with equal opportunities for all.
It's worth noting that our virtual internships greatly reduce our ecological footprint and therefore comply with the principles of the European Green Deal, as it's no longer necessary for you to travel to our offices.
